Moving Toward Jesus

We’re looking forward to Easter at Hillcrest Covenant….here’s a snapshot of where things are headed in coming weeks.

This Sunday, we’ll be finishing our series on Philippians by looking at chapter four…if you missed a week somewhere along the way, the series up until now has been archived here.

After that, we set our sights on Easter with a series called Moving Toward Jesus.   All creation is headed towards an encounter with Jesus – a good way to prepare for that is to look at His life and sacrifice.

March 19 – The Friends of Jesus

They say you can learn a lot about someone by the company they keep.  Some people even say that we become the average of the five people we hang around with the most.  Obviously, that’s not true of Jesus. He constantly reached down to pull others up.  What does the company He kept say about Him?

March 26 – The Call of Jesus

Jesus was a pied piper of sorts.  Crowds would follow in His wake, but often disperse when He got specific about the journey He was on.  What was the call that Jesus issued that would thin the crowd but attract people willing to die for Him?

April 2 – The Miracles of Jesus

To follow Jesus during His earthy ministry was to regularly see the laws of physics suspended and the edicts of science reversed.  He could move past the possible to what was needed.  What can we learn about His miracles?

Note: We’re going to be praying for the sick at the close of both of our services on April 2.  If you know of someone who is struggling with a physical issue, this is a great time to bring them for prayer.  And when I say “we”….I mean “we”.  Let’s do this!

April 9 – The Dangers of Public Opinion

One week, the crowds cheered for Jesus and shouted Hosanna.  Within days, they were calling for His crucifixion and the release of a convicted criminal in His place.  We’ll talk about the dangers of mob rule and it’s effect on our hearts.

April 16 – Easter Weekend

Three services – one Saturday evening, two on Sunday – to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ and the power that comes with knowing a God who has conquered death.   Attend one service and serve in one service as we invite all to hear the story of Jesus.

We hope you can join us!
